DEFENSIVE PISTOL 1

AN INTRODUCTORY COURSE TO DEFENSIVE PISTOL USE.
This one-day course has been created for the handgun owner who has never received formal firearms training in the area of defensive pistol use. There is big difference between the marksmanship-style pistol shooting that we all did with our family in an informal setting and the skills we actually need to effectively use our handgun in a life-threatening situation. In order to deploy the firearm in an effective manner in defensive situation we must learn techniques that are more tactical and defensive in nature.
This course will introduce the shooter to the following fundamental and extremely important techniques:

Holster and support equipment suggestions

Foundational pistol craft

Tactical handgun shooting fundamentals

Proper draw technique
-
Tactical and safe holstering
-
First shot accuracy assurance drills
-
Effective follow-up shot assurance drills
-
Safe combat reloading
Prerequisite
Attendees MUST be able to smoothly and safely draw from a holster, and be familiar with gun safety and handling techniques.

Equipment

Pistol in one of the following calibers: .380, 9MM, .357SIG, .40S&W, or .45ACP (no other calibers allowed)

2 magazines
-
Belt mounted dominant side handgun holster or duty rig

Magazine pouches
-
Sturdy belt at least 1.5" wide

Concealment garmet or duty gear

Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning

Clothing suitable for training in any weather

Hat with a brim
-
Hydration system

Sunscreen and bug spray

Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses with side panels

Earmuffs and earplugs

Knee and elbow pads (optional)

Body armor (optional)
Tuition includes free loan of firearms, holsters, safety glasses and hearing protection at the Epping, NH location only.
