Defensive Tactics (2 Hr. Sessions)

Defensive Tactics (2 Hr. Sessions)

BREAKING HOLDS

When someone puts their hands on you, you have the advantage--if you know how to react. Whether a simple arm or shirt grab, or a more severe hold such as a headlock, choke hold, full nelson, etc., this class will cover practical ways of dealing with aggressive physical attackers without relying on pure strength. There will be modest physical activity as techniques are practiced, but nothing athletic, so suitable for all adult ages, physiques, and levels of fitness.

TEAM HOSTAGE TACTICS

Not sure about going for your gun with a knife already at the throat of a loved one? Would you want your partner drawing from concealment if there was already a gun at your own head? You're a team, and good teams train for bad situations, so come get some reps together on those and others.

There will be modest physical activity as techniques are practiced, but nothing athletic, so suitable for all adult ages, physiques, and levels of fitness. No live fire--blue guns and training knives only.

IMPACT SHOTGUN

Shotguns hit hard, but run dry fast. Practice those speed reloads, but also learn to fight with an empty one if need be. Don't just swing it like a baseball bat! The skills learned will incorporate aspects of empty hand and improvised weapon defense as well.

There will be modest physical activity as techniques are practiced, but nothing athletic, so suitable for all adult ages, physiques, and levels of fitness. No live fire--blue guns and similar training implements only.

IMPROVISED WEAPONS

Ever been in an airport or on a plane? In a school, or out of state? Maybe you can't always have your gun, but the world is your arsenal if you know what to look for. Learn how to use water bottles, books, laptops, tablets, flashlights, magazines, jackets, belts, tweezers, and much more to help win a fight--because if that's what's in your hand, that's what you'll need to use.

There will be modest physical activity as techniques are practiced, but nothing athletic, so suitable for all adult ages, physiques, and levels of fitness. No live fire--training knives and similar training implements only.

JAW & LIMB CONTROL TACTICS

A seemingly unarmed assailant poses some interesting challenges. Can't shoot your way out of everything, yet you don't want your face caved in by some bruiser either. And what if it turns out he pulls a knife or grabs a pipe wrench when you're already in close? Jaw and limb control sounds like a puppeteering class, but it's actually a versatile defensive approach that works against punches and grabs as well as blade/blunt object attacks, helps even the field against much larger opponents, and can be applied even in the tight confines of a stairwell or airplane aisle.

There will be modest physical activity as techniques are practiced, but nothing athletic, so suitable for all adult ages, physiques, and levels of fitness. Preexisting injuries can be easily accommodated, but should be disclosed to the instructors before the start of class. No live fire--training knives and similar training implements only.

KNIFE & GUN DEFENSE

When faced with an armed assailant, especially in close quarters, your own gun may not solve all the problems. This class will cover practical hands-on ways of dealing with a handgun- or knife-wielding attacker, at times blending in use of your own sidearm. (Tactics applicable to various edged weapons, including box cutters, broken bottles, scissors, and so on.) There will be modest physical activity as techniques are practiced, but nothing athletic, so suitable for all adult ages, physiques, and levels of fitness. No live fire--blue guns and training knives only.

LONG GUN DEFENSE

Long guns, whether in the hands of an active shooter or a home invader, pose additional challenges when considering close quarters defense. This class will cover practical hands-on ways of dealing with an assailant armed with a rifle or shotgun, at times blending in use of your own sidearm. There will be modest physical activity as techniques are practiced, but nothing athletic, so suitable for all adult ages, physiques, and levels of fitness. No live fire--blue guns and training knives only.
