ACTIVE SHOOTER RESPONSE FOR THE CONCERNED CITIZEN

THIS TWO DAY CLASS TEACHES THE ATTENDEE TACTICALLY SOUND AND LEGALLY APPROPRIATE RESPONSES TO SITUATIONS OF ACTIVE VIOLENCE.

Whether it’s getting caught in the middle of a movie theater shooting, a violent flash mob, an incident of workplace violence or a terrorist attack in a shopping mall, acts of extreme violence in heavily populated public areas have always been a concern. What should we do when we cannot run away? How do we respond effectively to protect our lives and the lives of our loved ones? What we have learned in other training courses may not be effective when faced with extensive numbers of adversaries and/or rates of fire. Standing on a firing line and “punching holes in target” or working the bag in the dojo will not cut it in these situations. We need to train realistically to have a chance. This two-day class will teach the attendee tactically sound and legally appropriate responses to situations of active violence.

The student will learn:

  • To recognize impending attacks by understanding the characteristics of the attacker.

  • Adversary weapons familiarization

  • Effective response to adversaries wearing ballistic armorer will be shown and perfected

  • Tactical building movements to be used during escape and evasion

  • Perfect both defensive armed and unarmed responses and test our level of proficiency in these responses by conducting live fire drills and utilizing force-on-force training methods.

Prerequisite

This course is an intermediate level course. It is not an entry level course. The student needs to know and be able to demonstrate safe gun handling, weapon system familiarity, foundational marksmanship skills, and working from a holster.
